Ridgeway to stand for council

SWAN Hill local Allen Ridgeway has declared his intention to run
in the the Swan Hill Rural City Council election in October.

Mr Ridgeway said
he would run for a position in Lakes Ward — one of three single-member wards in
the municipality  — with his main focus on Lake Boga and
Pental Island.

He said the Lakes districts had been neglected by state parliamentarians and
would cost around $56 million to restore.

“I want to bring Lake Boga and Penal Island issues to light, and to pressure
Peter Walsh and John Forrest, who are sitting in such safe seats that they don’t
have to do anything,” he said.

Mr
Ridgeway is a qualified fridge mechanic and currently works for Larnec Doors and
Systems in tool maintenance.

“If want someone to listen, take an honest line
with things and not lie, they should vote for me,” he said.

This is the first time Mr
Ridgeway has run for Council.
