Man drives car into hotel, confronts officers: police

A SEA Lake man has been arrested and charged after driving his car into the the Sea Lake Hotel.

Police said the incident occurred during a domestic dispute between the 51-year-old man and his partner.

At approximately 12pm on Thursday October 11, the accused allegedly drove at his partner — who was at the front of the hotel at the time — and struck a brick pillar causing damage to the building.

It is alleged that the man then aggressively confronted police officers attending the scene and attempted to grab a firearm from a police officer.

Police used capsicum spray and a baton to prevent the man from withdrawing the firearm.

The accused was subdued, arrested and cuffed and was remanded at Swan Hill police station charged with offences relating to the alleged driving incident and assaulting police.
