THE sporting coaches of the future were put through their
paces on Friday at a special training session designed to teach them the joys —
and pains — of organising young children.
As part of the VET subject Sport
and Recreation, students take responsibility for designing, organising and
running afternoon sporting activities for primary school children to enjoy.
On Friday, students received instruction from professional coaches to teach
them how to best educate and wrangle primary students.
St Mary MacKillop
College teacher Geoff Hickmott said 2013 would be one of the biggest years yet
for the course, with about 30 students from the college taking part.
