A THREE-acre fire at Boundary Bend is believed to have blown across the Murray River after igniting in NSW.
Believed to have ignited interstate on Wednesday night, the spot fire blew embers across the river to ignite public riverfront land about three kilometres north-west of Boundary Bend.
Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) fire fighters and CFA responded at 7pm, with about eight units attending the scene in total.
DSE fire management officer for the Mallee District Nathan Christian said the initial fire fighting exercise lasted five hours and it was contained to one river bend.
