Residents lament connection problems

SEA Lake residents have banded together in a bid to improve
the town’s Telstra landline service.

Residents say they are frustrated over
recent phone outages which have been occurring intermittently over the past 18
months.

Secretary of Advance Sea Lake Inc, Bron Alday said the issue had
become an ongoing concern for the district, noting in recent months the problem
had escalated to the stage where residents and businesses were experiencing
frequent disruptions to the Telstra network.

In a bid to get some answers,
residents have been putting pen to paper, taking their concerns directly to
Federal Member for Mallee John Forrest.

In the letter which is circulating
around the town, residents say the issue is having serious consequences within
the community, particularly with local businesses who have no access to EFTPOS,
phones, faxes or emails when the lines go down.
