SUPPORT for the Anzac Appeal is growing every year, according
to Swan Hill RSL volunteers who officially begin their badge drive
tomorrow.
Last year the week-long appeal raised in excess of $16,000, whereas
in years past it collected $8000 to $10,000, according to Swan Hill RSL senior
vice president Peter Ritchie.
“It seems to go up every year… it’s just the
way it’s going,” he said.
RSL volunteers collecting
in the Swan Hill CBD from tomorrow will be selling badges, pens, wristbands, bag
tags and other items, with all proceeds going to welfare and charitable support
for ex-servicemen and their families.
