FOUR players from the Central Murray Football Netball League region are continuing to develop a month into Bendigo Gold’s VFL season.
Gold has so far struggled with four losses from four games including most recently to Collingwood, but patience is a virtue for Troy Kelm, Ricky Thomson, Steve Stroobants and Billy McInnes as the side continues to develop under former St Kilda star Aussie Jones.
Woorinen will be hoping to engage the services of young local Billy McInnes when commitments allow and with the experience he is gaining in the VFL, his services for the Tigers would be all the more valuable.
Against Collingwood last Friday night, McInnes’ direct opponent was AFL rookie-listed player Jack Frost.
“It was good to play against Collingwood, it was quick and it was good to play on a quality player,” McInnes said.
McInnes said he was pleased to play a role for Gold.
“It was good because I did my bit for the team and the coach was happy with our form,” he said.
