MP-in training shadows sitting Mallee member

NATIONALS candidate for Mallee Andrew Broad has had a taste of what’s entailed
when it comes to overseeing the Mallee electorate.

He has been clocking up
the kilometres in recent days as he shadows Member for Mallee John Forrest in
the lead-up to this year’s federal election.

Describing Mr Broad as his
protégé, Mr Forrest said the duo had spent some considerable time together,
allowing Mr Broad to gain a better understanding of the issues which were
pertinent to the region.

Acknowledging the geographic and demographic
diversity of the Mallee electorate, the trip has seen The Nationals travel to
Charlton, Ouyen, Manangatang, Swan Hill and Mildura in recent days.

“Like any
job, there is a lot to learn,” Mr Broad said.
