Styles joins 200 club

TIM Styles will become the latest member of Tyntynder’s 200-club on Saturday afternoon.

Styles will join good mates including Brad Carroll, Paul Munro and Clint Kelly who all played their 200th game for the Bulldogs last season.

The popular clubman made his debut for Tyntynder in 1997, playing in a reserves premiership before missing a significant amount of football thanks to a knee reconstruction.

Other than a two year stint at Murrabit from 2000, the 33-year-old has played his whole career at Alan Garden Memorial Reserve.

The number 20 has been a familiar sight in attack and defence so far this season and the Bulldogs’ progress has been pleasing for Styles.

“It’s been a good start so far,” he said on Wednesday afternoon.

“We’ve got a good bunch of young kids mixed with some older blokes.”

Tyntynder has won three games from three starts to be up near the top of the ladder after the first month of footy.

But for Styles the true tests are yet to come.

“We’ll have to wait and see how we go when we play the likes of Cohuna and Kerang,” he said.

Club president Rod Carroll said Styles and wife Georgia were held in very high regard at the Bulldogs.

“They’re active and valued members of the club,” he said.
