Miss Humanity finalist

SWAN Hill local Emily Cullen has been selected as a Victorian state finalist in the 2013 Miss Humanity Australia beauty competition.

The competition combines modelling and charity work, describing it as “beauty on a mission”.

Ms Cullen is the host and creator of a youth radio station aimed at encouraging young people to embrace their individuality,

Emily is following in the footsteps of her best friend Larni Salathiel, who was a finalist and second runner-up in 2012.

Although she hasn’t entered the competition this year, Ms Salathiel said the idea behind the competition was appealing.

“I think it’s really good that it focuses more on the charity work side of things,” she said.

“A lot of the girls have a background in modelling… but Miss Humanity is focused on the whole package.”

Miss Humanity will be crowned in Melbourne on June 15.
