DUE to the continued success of Twilight Cinemas in Swan Hill, the company will open a second cinema screening venue for the coming July school holidays.
Cinema screenings at Memorial Hall on McCrae Street will run in conjunction with regular town hall screenings every day from June 29 to July 14.
Twilight Cinemas director Andrew Taylor said the company was delighted to secure the screening venue and appreciated the new partnership with the Swan Hill Theatre Group, who operate Memorial Hall.
“We have progressed quickly from the indoor trial which commenced last year in the Town Hall and we now see our evening sessions becoming extremely popular,” Mr Taylor said.
During the school holiday period, Twilight Cinemas will screen Australian Director Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, on Saturday June 22 in the Swan Hill Town Hall.
The film adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic US novel has opened to record box office results and is one of Baz Luhrmann’s biggest successes to date.
“Being able to screen such a film on a Saturday night in Swan Hill is very exciting,” Mr Taylor said.
“This year we have been able to use the new upgraded town hall audio system and we expect the place to be pumping with the film sound track and visual on-screen feast.
