AFTER two years of careful planning, an initiative designed to
provide vocational opportunities for school graduates with a disability finally
has a permanent home and the required start-up funds.
Pioneer Animal Nursery
has received a $3000 donation from the Swan Hill Sunrise Rotary Club and will be
situated at the Swan Hill District Agricultural and Pastoral Society show
sheds.
The nursery’s president Cathy Darby said she was looking forward to
the nursery finally becoming a permanent fixture.
“For two years we’ve been
exploring and developing this, knowing there have been young people needing
employment,” she said.
“It’s often that businesses are closing in Swan Hill
and just can’t take on a young person that needs support.”
