FOR local entrepreneur Sharon Rogers, success in life is all about goals.
From juggling family commitments to running marathons, the motivated mother
of two has kicked a number of long-term goals since deciding to start a family,
and is now helping other mums do the same through an online life coaching
business.
After being encouraged to enrol in a life coaching course by mentor
and fellow life coach Sandy Forster, Ms Rogers took up the challenge.
She
has since started up Life Changing Success Coaching, where she mentors a range
of people online, mothers in particular.
Her skills have already resulted in
her personal story being published in two books, The Spirit of Success and
Adventures in Manifesting, which was launched locally at Jilarty in August last
year.
“It’s pretty amazing to be a published author,” she says.
“I think
a lot of mums become very entrepreneurial when they have kids, because they have
to find something to do that will fit around school and raising a family.”
Ms
Rogers has lived in the Swan Hill region most of her life, having grown up on a
broad acre farm in Chinkapook.
Upon graduating from Manangatang P-12 College
she moved to Bendigo to study business at La Trobe University, but returned to
the region after a year.
She found a copywriting job at Swan Hill based
radio station 3SH, and eventually moved into sales consulting — setting up an
untapped market covering the areas of Kerang, Cohuna and Barham.
After
working in advertising for more than a decade, Ms Rogers knew that she would
eventually have to leave her job for something more suited to life with kids.
