Tech school block to be auctioned off

A large plot of government-owned land set to go under the hammer in the Swan
Hill CBD may make way for a large commercial development.

Formerly the site
of the Swan Hill Technical College, the land is zoned for business and may
attract interest from national companies, according to the
seller.

Professionals Real Estate principal Noel Watson predicts that the
property will attract both local entrepreneurs and big businesses looking for a
Swan Hill outlet.

Neighbouring businesses include car dealerships Toyota and
Kia, VicRoads, Lateral Communications, Swan Hill Police Station and Blue Sky
Swan Hill.

The plot consists of 2.138 hectares and is more than 100 metres
wide. Where students once played football, developers may soon be considering
multi-million dollar projects.

“A lot of people have been watching this
property. This will create a lot of interest.” Mr Watson said.

“We’re
expecting interest from Melbourne.”

The land has been empty for approximately
10 years, since the closure of the Swan Hill Technical College.
