THIS month’s Swan Hill Vintage and Classic Vehicle Club meeting will have a ruby shine to it, as the group celebrates its 40th birthday.
More than 12 months of organisation will finally come into fruition when the club holds its 40th anniversary Ruby Rally on Sunday.
A week of celebrations will see more than 80 entries take to the streets, with the rally taking drivers through Swan Hill, Robinvale, Balranald and Barham.
Swan Hill Vintage and Classic Vehicle Club registration officer Gary Monk said they were expecting a couple of hundred people for the event.
“We have got approximately 85 entries, but there are always two or three in the car so there will be a lot of people really,” he said.
“I’ll be driving my 1938 Plymouth fitted with a tow rope to tow the Fords home.”
Vintage and classic car enthusiasts from all over the country will join the rally, with some coming from as far away as Young, NSW.
