Finals hopes alive for Tigers

DESPITE a strong 27-point win over the Demons this weekend, Woorinens biggest challenge is yet to come, when they face top-ranked Swan Hill next week.

In one of their highest scoring games for the season, Woorinen took out the win over Nyah Nyah West United 62-35.

The third placed Tigers put up a strong team effort throughout the match, managing to shut down Nyah’s attempts at goal.

Woorinen coach Naomi Lewis said the win set a precedent for further matches.

“We need to be getting those scores consistently and keep possession of the ball,” she said.

Key players for the Tigers in Saturday’s game included Ange Young, Jana Overall and Chelsea Bird in defence.
