THREE girls will represent Swan Hill Little Aths at a state event next month.
Melissa Sambrooks, Emily Kearns and Sophie Adamson will all compete at the Little Aths State Cross Country Championships in Melbourne on Saturday, August 3.
To get there the girls needed to record a qualifying time at any stage through their local club’s winter cross country series.
Swan Hill Little Aths holds cross country events fortnightly through winter, with Emily and Sophie competing in under nines and Melissa competing in under 15s.
More than 600 little aths participants are registered for the event at Laudner Park.
Sue Sambrooks said she was familiar with the course and believed it would prove challenging for the participants.
“I walked it last year and it is on a very steep hill,” she said.
Applications for the event close at the end of the month.
