SWAN Hill District Health will be the first local facility to
hold an exercise program which claims to reduce the re-occurrence of
cancer.
Known as the cancer exercise specialist program, it will involve a
range of cardiology and flexibility movements.
Expecting to begin within the
next month, its introduction has been made possible as a result of a generous
donation from a local gym.
Swan Hill Health District physiotherapist Emma
Brown recently completed the certified training of the course.
“There has
been quite a bit of research done into exercise and cancer so I am excited to be
involved,” she said.
Ms Brown has previously worked at a similar program in
Bendigo.
