TWO of Swan Hill’s rising soccer stars showed off their skills on a national junior stage last month.
Megan Williamson and Annie Bissinella represented Victoria Country in the national under 13 girls’ championships at Coffs Harbour, and both came away with impressive results.
The team played five games in five days, with Megan and Annie both receiving Victoria’s best on ground honours.
The five day event saw the Vic Country team win three, lose one and draw one.
Vic Country finished second in Pool B for the event.
Swan Hill Soccer Club’s Allison Lewin said Megan and Annie had gotten plenty out of being involved in the team environment.
“As far as going away by themselves and staying with the team in a competitive environment,” she said.
Lewin, who travelled to Coffs Harbour with Merryn Williamson, said the young stars grew as players through the week.
“They probably started off a bit slow because they hadn’t played with them before and being on a big arena and with what they were playing for,” she said.
