Fight on for Dogs

Tyntynder v Cohuna

TYNTYNDER will look to shore up its position in the top three when it hosts Cohuna in the Central Murray Football Netball League (CMFNL) match of the round at Alan Garden Memorial Reserve tomorrow.

The Bulldogs are two points clear of the Mallee Eagles and Woorinen and three weeks out from the finals can’t afford to drop a game.

Last week resulted in a pleasing win at Lalbert as the Bulldogs got on top in the second quarter and ran away with the game.

But for Dogs coach Mark Corrie the work was only just beginning.

“We’re slowly getting there. Last week was only one game, though, we’ve got a good side again this week,” he said.

Corrie said his side would remain unchanged as it had for several weeks.

“It’s not about individuals in our side, it’s about each person executing the game plan to the best of their ability,” he said.

“If we do that I’m confident.”

But Corrie said he was “still not talking finals yet”.

“As you can see it can all change overnight – we went from fifth to third over one game,” he said.

“(The players are) well aware of that and know we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves.”

Facing them tomorrow, however, will be a formidable opponent in the top of the ladder Cohuna Kangas.

The Kangas only loss so far came at Cohuna to Kerang back in round four and they’ve only gotten better since.

The addition of Angus Grigg to the side has been a revelation, while the likes of Christian Bock in the ruck have had solid seasons.

They will probably see the Kangas home tomorrow but not without a fight from the Dogs.

TIP: Cohuna by 34 points.
