THE fickle nature of footy results has again upstaged experts making predictions for the outcome of a season.
When the Central Murray Football Netball League released its finals venue allocations last month many believed the Cohuna Kangas were headed for top spot on the ladder and a second semi-final berth — with a spot in the grand final on the line.
And with the second semi-final this year scheduled for September 7 at Cohuna, some perceived it as potentially an unfair advantage.
But Tyntynder appears to have changed all that last Saturday when it upset the Kangas by 47 points.
If, as expected, the Kangas beat Koondrook Barham and Tooleybuc Manangatang in the last fortnight of the season they will almost certainly finish second, unless Kerang loses at least one more game.
The Blues, who have lost only to Mallee Eagles this season, play Woorinen tomorrow and Balranald in the last round.
It’s a reminder to us all that things are never quite as certain as they seem.
