Swan Hill takes early advantage

SWAN Hill have already claimed first innings points against St Mary’s Tyntynder at the halfway mark of their Swan Hill District Cricket Association fixture on Saturday.

Day one of the two day game saw St Mary’s batting first, with Swan Hill dismissing the visitors for 110.

Matt Heffer top scored with 43 for St Mary’s, while Stuart Dixon claimed five wickets for Swan Hill.

Harry Clewett and Tom Lister managed half centuries in Swan Hill’s first innings with Lister scoring 52 and Clewett 75.

Lakers hosted Nyah District and batted first in the Lake Boga fixture.

Matt Smith and Jerome Kelly managed 23 and 24 respectively, but the home side was dismissed for a meagre 68.

Mick Boulton was the best with the ball for Nyah, taking 3/4 off 11.5 overs.

Nyah was 6/114 after 40 overs, with Justin Toomey making 39.

Kelly finished with figures of 2/31.

Woorinen’s Taylor Cameron hit a breath-taking 149 before being caught by Sam Grant off Adrian Gordon’s bowling at Woorinen on Saturday.

It helped the home side finish with 7/327 off 65.1 overs.

In reply, Tooleybuc Manangatang was 2/13 off 14 overs at stumps.

Gordon is not out on two.

RSL batted first against Ultima TUF, finishing with a total of 281 off 69 overs.

Brenton Caldwell top scored with 82 while Brenton Gurnett managed 59.

Toby O’Grady was the pick of UTUF’s bowlers with four wickets.

In reply, UTUF was 3/32 at stumps after 11 overs.
