Riding a wave of support

WHEN Sarah Cameron celebrated her 30th birthday recently, her two sisters and
their partners gave her a present she never expected.

Her sisters Emma Bull
and Michelle Barnes and their partners Scott Bull and Campbell Bryan, decided
they would participate in the annual Melbourne MS Cycle event — which raises
money for MS Australia — as a birthday present for Sarah.

Sarah was diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) when she was 27.

The disease damages nerve cells
in the brain and spinal cord, disrupting the ability of parts of the nervous
system to communicate, causing impairment of motor, sensory and cognitive
functions.

“I was just so shocked when they told me they were doing it,” she
said.

“They planned it really well, I had no idea they were even organising
it.
