Boga pumping causes concern

GOULBURN-MURRAY Water’s (G-MW) plan to lower Lake Boga by up to 1.3m has received heavy criticism from some local users.

In an email to “key contacts” on Tuesday, the water authority said the water would be pumped into the Little Murray River and it was predicted to start mid-February.

Lake Boga’s operational purpose is to harvest and release water for distribution to Murray River customers when required.

The email from G-MW said “recreational users will need to be cautious of hazards as the water level falls and all diverters may need to extend suction lines”.
