THE undulating fairways of Murray Downs were alive again with the colour and energy of the local Dads’ Army golfing group.
The informal club swung back into action for the first time in 2014 this week, with another big year planned.
Memorable moments of last year included the opportunity to celebrate George Baird’s 80th birthday and the induction of Ross Watts and Frank Witnish as honorary members.
Major awards went to Kevin Maddy (Golfer of the Year) and Bob Deighton (Masters champion).
The group plays nine holes twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The group’s main annual tournament the Dad’s Army Masters will be held next month.
