THEIR skills might not be on a par with the pros, but they’re on top of the leader-board when it comes to enthusiasm and fellowship.
The Murray Downs’ Dads’ Army golfers finished up their annual Masters event with a light-hearted barbecue at the club’s gazebo on Monday afternoon.
The final round was played before lunch and the traditional presentation of the green jacket —including, as usual, a humorous and slightly rude prize in the pocket purchased by the previous year’s winner.
The championship was played over three rounds of nine holes and after the first two rounds there were a number of players in with a chance of winning.
The final result was a close finish that saw Daryl Forde emerge as champion after a count-back, which saw John Brereton the day’s most unlucky player.
Brian Gammon was not far behind in the third place.
Forde was presented with the green jacket by 2013 Masters champion Bob Deighton.
