RAIN clouds are expected to clear over the weekend, putting an end to the drenching seen across the region.

Swan Hill received 76.8mm of rain from Tuesday through to Friday morning, with the Bureau of Meteorology reporting that Thursday was the wettest April day in the region since 2007.

A severe weather warning for heavy rains leading to flash flooding was issued for the Mallee on Thursday, but was later lifted.

Forecaster Gary Missen said while there might be a little rain around on Friday and Saturday, residents could look forward to sunny skies by Monday or Tuesday.

“There is the threat of showers on Saturday, but only 0.2mm or 0.4mm,” he said.

While the sun might be out, Swan Hill region should brace themselves for some cooler weather next week, with minimum temperatures forecast drop to as low as 9C.
