Coffee for Tower Hill

TOWER Hill may soon have its first coffee shop located within the neighbourhood.

Places Victoria and Swan Hill Rural City Council have said they will call for expressions of interest this month for the development of “a cafe or retailer” for the area.

Places Victoria has identified a potential cafe site within 100m of the Sunraysia Institute of TAFE campus and adjacent to the new Barry Steggall Park.

According to Places Victoria Metropolitan and Regional Renewal general manager Joanne Wendel, a cafe would be a good development in the area where land is “selling fast”.

“A café or retailer will be a great asset for Tower Hill, servicing the nearly 500 people who already call Tower Hill home,” Ms Wandel said.

“It will also benefit residents and staff of the nearby retirement village and the adjacent industrial precinct.”

The 150 hectare project has been developed by Places Victoria in partnership with Swan Hill Rural City Council for more than four years but still doesn’t have any shops or cafes.

Upon completion, Tower Hill is expected to incorporate 1100 detached and medium density homes.

“Land is selling fast and we encourage anyone thinking about building their new dream home to consider building at Tower Hill among wetlands and parks and less than 3km from the centre of Swan Hill,” Ms Wandel said.
