Administration move

THE Swan Hill region’s football administration staff will be housed at the city’s basketball stadium in a bid to streamline operations across the Central Murray and Golden Rivers football leagues.

The AFL Central Murray administrative hub will oversee operations of the CMFNL and GRFL at the stadium thanks to the support of Swan Hill Rural City Council and the stadium’s committee of management. Plans are underway to ensure the Regional Administration Centre is operational prior to next season, with renovations to occur to establish office space.

The move comes following the Central Murray Football Netball League and the Golden Rivers Football League consolidating their administration requirements within the RAC under the guidance of the AFL Central Murray Commission.

As well as accommodating two administration staff the RAC will house AFL Victoria regional football development manager Jamie Macri and AFL Central Murray’s regional general manager Bruce Petering with staff expansion on a permanent or part-time basis planned.

“This is an exciting phase in the evolution of AFL Central Murray. The creation of the RAC will consolidate administration and development within a modern office environment,” AFL Central Murray chairperson Alan Mitchell said.
