Strong individual performances highlight junior round

A NUMBER of strong individual efforts highlighted this week’s Swan Hill District Cricket Association junior matches.

Brady Hogan’s 66 was a clear top score in the Under 17s game at Woorinen, with Swan Hill Lakers subsequently recording 126 — 72 more than the home side’s total — to take out first innings points.

A strong performance with the ball by Woorinen’s Marcus Mangiameli — who finished with 4-11 — wasn’t enough to turn the game in the Tigers’ favour.

Over at North Park, Tom McGregor’s 61 not out was about half of RSL’s 125, with Beau Alty and Jack Cook claiming three wickets apiece in the Blues’ first innings victory.

Across at Ken Harrison Sporting Complex, St Mary’s Tyntynder suffered a rare defeat.

The Northern Razorbacks got home by six runs, with Nic Ralph’s contribution — he claimed four wickets and hit 48 runs — playing a significant part in his side’s win over the Saints.

Under 14s

SEA Lake Woomelang had a comfortable first innings win over Woorinen at Woorinen on Saturday.

Conor Micheal’s all-round performance with 3-6 and 57 were the highlights of the match.

Swan Hill Lakers claimed first innings points at the showgrounds against Ultima TUF.

Rory Hogan’s top score of 30 not out helped his side to the win, despite Kade Benfield’s best efforts with the ball to claim four wickets for Ultima TUF.

RSL was too strong for Northern Razorbacks at Nyah.

The Razorbacks batted first and had good contributions from openers Tom Domaille (48) and Lachlan Wooding (44).

The Blues best performances came from Jacob O’Meara who snapped up three wickets and Callum Dickinson who scored 40 not out.
