Louise losing her locks for a good cause

LOADS of long, luscious locks are set to be cut off in just a few weeks as hundreds of people across Australia raise money for charity.

Just a few days shy of her 15th birthday, Swan Hill College student Louise Hatcher will join those brave souls and shave her beautiful hair for the Leukeamia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave.

“To me it isn’t really about shaving my hair, I don’t find it much of a loss, I am doing it to raise the money to be able to help people,” she said.

“I have always wanted to be able to help someone that needs it, like people that can’t afford treatment.”

The idea of doing the World’s Greatest Shave has always been in the back of Louise’s mind, but it was after a teacher at her school shaved her hair last year that really encouraged her.

“That really gave me the motivation and inspiration to do it, it was kind of a push,” she said.

Beginning the fundraising in early September last year, Louise has already raised almost $500.
