Food, wine and all things fun

THE fourth Swan Hill Region Food and Wine Festival is expected to bring about 2000 people in to town this weekend, with the district’s delicious culinary delights on offer for all to sample.

More than 25 local stallholders will be involved in showcasing the fresh produce and wines over the three-day event.

On offer will be everything from coffee and drinks to sausages and salami and even some sweet selections like liquorice, honey and cordial, for those inclined to indulge.

Jessica Warburton has been festival chairperson for the past three years.

“We’re very proud that it’s come such a long way in four years and is now one of the major events in the Swan Hill calendar,” she said.

“We’re hoping that it will bring about 2000 people based on last year’s figures and the increase in growth we’ve seen each year.”

People have travelled from Bendigo, Ballarat and Mildura for the festival, with some international visitors even making their way to Swan Hill for the event.
