Music, dance and food at Harmony Day

MORE than 3000 people will be flocking to Riverside Park tomorrow afternoon.

It is Harmony Day and the park will be filled with colourful outfits, delicious foods and fantastic dancing.

This year marks the sixth annual Swan Hill Harmony Day.

The Marruk Project will be performing just after 4pm and they will be doing a dance workshop at 5.30pm for anyone interested in learning Hip Hop.

There will be a dozen food stalls showcasing different cultural foods from all over the globe.

There will be traditional bead work on display and for sale as well as craft and beauty demonstrations.

The kids won’t be left out with a pop-up playground and face painting to keep them happy.

Don’t forget to wear your traditional outfits to showcase at the fashion parade.

Project leader Kim Bennett said “it gives young people who are living two different cultures a chance to show off their traditional clothes”.

Harmony Day celebrates diversity in our community and the committee hopes the afternoon presents the opportunity for residents to learn from each other.

“We are all the same on Harmony Day,” said committee member Hiral Shah.

All the festivities start at 4pm tomorrow down at Riverside Park.
