Auction to help smash funding goals

A GOODS and services auction being held by the Swan Hill Freemasons tomorrow night will coincide with the halfway mark of the first stage of Swan Hill’s fundraising effort to build a local hospice.

Swan Hill Hospice Committee has revealed it has raised more then $50,000 already, and is hoping to reach the $100,000 goal to fulfill its first stage by early next year.

The auction at Swan Hill Town Hall tomorrow is expected to play a big part in that process as one of the biggest fundraising events for the Swan Hill hospice effort yet.

Auction organisers have revealed just under 300 tickets have been sold out of a possible 320, with last-minute sales still available for anyone interested in attending.

Swan Hill Hospice Committee released a statement to reflect on how much community support has meant to it thus far and what was still left to be achieved.

“With a fantastic support base within the community and district, over $50,000 has been raised since December last year,” the statement said.

“A huge number of people from all over the area have contributed with all types of fundraising to reach this wonderful milestone and the Hospice Committee would like to thank everyone for their efforts and support so far.”
