CALLS to hold the Swan Hill Market Day to twice a year might be jumping the gun, according to a Swan Hill Inc Traders Committee spokesperson.
Terry Jennings, a member of the sub-committee — which is made up of retailers and business owners — believes the expenditure for the day and timeliness may be issues.
“There’s a massive expenditure on the day, so to do it, we would need to scale back and do two smaller versions,” he said.
“For the proposal we certainly need to get more feedback from traders from all the areas, and other participants.
“I would have thought there were enough people on the street to give everyone a lick of the lolly.”
With such a positive reception from the past several Market Days, Mr Jennings is of the mind, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’
“The last couple have been really well received, I wouldn’t be thinking to tweak it too much,” he said.
Despite this, a majority of the retailers The Guardian has spoken to believe the move to be feasible.
