SWAN Hill’s top basketball side have scored yet another victory after overcoming some early game rust.
The Swan Hill Lady Flyers went into the match with a chance to shake up the competition and continue moving up the ladder, but the Castlemaine Lady Cannons weren’t going to go down without a fight.
Eventually, the Flyers shook off their early game jitters to score a 79-63 win in front of 160 local fans at the Basketball Stadium.
The win puts the blue and whites just four competition points outside of the top four, a winning streak they will be looking to continue when Country Basketball League (CBL) returns from its Christmas break.
The going got tough for the Flyers at certain points throughout the match and captain Kelsey McCoy said her side didn’t play to their best, but it was a positive step after securing the win.
