Kitten dumped

A LOCAL Swan Hill business became the dumping ground for a kitten last week.

As Supercheap Auto staff sweltered with a broken air conditioner during the pre-Christmas rush period last Wednesday, staff were surprised when a customer enquired if they could hear meowing in the store.

Briana Fletcher, a sales assistant, said that they searched the store entirely because they could hear the kitten but could not find it.

“A bit later I was back behind the counter when the kitten ran up to me,” she said.

Cathy Donnelly, another staff member agreed to take the kitten home and look after the kitten while a decision is made on its future.

“Clearly the kitten was malnourished,” Ms Donnelly said.

“I would estimate it was only about four-weeks-old when we found it and would probably have been still suckling its mother.”
