SWAN Hill’s Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year recipient, Robbie Caccaviello, is well-regarded within the Swan Hill region.
Known by his nickname Cacca, Robbie was recognised at Tuesday’s award ceremony at Riverside Park for his ongoing commitment and involvement within the Swan Hill community.
“It’s really rewarding,” Robbie told The Guardian.
“There are so many young people in town doing good things. I’m pretty honoured.”
He is a long-time member of the Swan Hill Rural City Youth Council and one of the founding members of the Swan Hill Youth Arts Festival (YAF), now in its third year.
As part of his youth council work Robbie has assisted with implementing the 2015 youth strategy and organising events like Rock on the Dock, Loud at the Library and Red Rave.
Robbie told The Guardian that many of his achievements would not have been possible without the help of Kane Sparks, council’s youth support coordinator.
