Grant helps strengthen show

SWAN Hill’s highly anticipated annual Swan Hill Agricultural and Pastoral Society Show is set for a boon this year with a grant from the Stronger Communities Programme.

Member for Mallee Andrew Broad helped facilitate the $5526 grant which will go towards a new photocopier and air-conditioning for the Young Farmer’s Hall.

“The Swan Hill show is a wonderful community event that brings people together to celebrate the great things about this region,” Mr Broad said.

Show president Reg Packer couldn’t be more pleased with the grant.

“The process has been a few months … We’ve been guided through it by [Mr Broad’s] office here in Swan Hill,” he said.

“We applied for the grant so we could do some improvements with our show premises, putting air-conditioning in the Young Farmer’s Hall and also towards a new photocopying machine.”
