Cricket unites law with lore

AFTER successful beginnings, a Lore verse Law cricket match will make its return in 2016 in the hope to give both sides a chance to interact with one another socially.

The Twenty20 match, slated for Sunday, April 3, from 10.30am, is open for participants from the Koori community to take on the Swan Hill Police in an attempt to continue building positive relationships.

With the police side officially sorted out, a call out for players is now being made for the lore side to take on Law at Ken Harrison Oval.

Victoria Police Aboriginal community liaison officer Lateesha Jeffrey said multiple stakeholders have come together to make the day a success for the community.

“The network (Ms Jeffrey, LAJAC Project Officer Nicola Perry, Koori Court Officer Maydena Calvino and VALS Client Support Officer Cain Chaplin) have come together to reintroduce this event, we want to make it an annual game,” she said.
