OVER 250 motorcycles will be riding into Swan Hill this Sunday, for Mildura’s third annual Black Dog Ride.
These rides attract over 250 riders with some 25 pillions, that all pay to register to help raise funds for awareness of depression and suicide prevention.
“Since 2012, Black Dog Ride has raised over $1,029,000 for Lifelines suicide prevention programs across Australia,” said Black Dog Ride lead committee member Ray Pratt.
“One of the beneficiaries of the funds raised by the Black Dog Ride is Lifeline.
“We have had several substantial donations this year and believe that with the help of the community, and with some government funding we will have a call centre up and running within the next twelve or so months.”
Riders will congregate at Riverside Park adjacent to the café at around 11.30am this Sunday, whilst employees of Headspace and Mallee Family Care will promote the services they offer for sufferers of mental illness, or for families or friends that support those that do.
