A MURRAY sporting body has launched a campaign video in a bid to end family violence in the region.
The Central Murray Football Netball League (CMFNL) launched the video on Sunday with respected clubmen and women declaring domestic violence was not okay and it is time to band together as a community.
The video appears to have had an immediate impact with one local man already making contact with the CMFNL to inform them he had decided to seek professional help after the clip helped him recognise an issue.
After being inspired by a video in another league, AFL Victoria AFL Central Murray football development manager Jamie Macri said he knew he wanted to take a stand on an issue that affects many Victorian homes.
“I thought this was a great chance to do something through the clubs to get the message out that domestic violence is a serious issue in the community,” he told The Guardian.
