TWO Manangatang students are getting behind the five Saunders sisters after their home was destroyed in a blaze on Good Friday.
The Chinkapook family lost all but the clothes on their back when fire ripped through their home at an alarming rate.
As a result, the five daughters Shae-Maree Colman and Nathan Saunders — all younger than 12 — have been left without their beloved books.
Jake Baker and Alannah Taylor wanted to do anything they could to help the family.
The two 11-year-olds attend school with Geordie and know of her love of books and reading.
Alannah’s mother Lyndal Taylor said that the conscientious pair came up with the idea of a book drive of their own accord
