TWO suspects have been questioned over an alleged armed robbery yesterday morning in which a man pulled a gun on a taxi driver and demanded cash.
Swan Hill Crime Investigation (CI) Unit Detective Senior Constable Mick Corridan said the two suspects, a 20-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, were arrested on Pye Street shortly after the incident, which occurred at 6am yesterday.
“The taxi driver picked up two males from an address in Swan Hill, and he was asked to go to (another) address,” Sen-Constable Corridan said.
“The two accused then asked the driver to stop.
“It is alleged one of the accused has produced a firearm and demanded cash. An amount of cash was handed over and the two accused have fled.
“Police made some investigations and arrested two males a short time later.”
The men were yesterday assisting police with their enquiries.
Anyone who observed strange behaviour around the time of the incident was encouraged to make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Swan Hill CI Unit on 5036 1600.
