TODAY the country stops to commemorate the sacrifices and service of the many Anzac troops who fought and lost their lives at war.
Anzac Day commemorations will be held across the district, with dawn services in Swan Hill and Kyalite as well as regular morning services at Lake Boga, Nyah, Chinkapook, Swan Hill, Balranald and across Wakool Shire.
The Anzac spirit was also honoured throughout the weekend.
Yesterday, the Ultima community gathered by the town cenotaph to pay its respects to the fallen with laying of the wreaths, a recital of the Ode and Last Post, and a prayer.
The Central Murray Football Netball League also paid tribute, holding an Anzac trophy match between Tyntynder and Koondrook Barham at Alan Garden Reserve while players across the league wore black armbands.
