HE 2016 duck season has drawn to a close with Mallee hunting stores feeling the pinch of a slow season.
Concerns were also expressed at the lack of water across traditional hunting spots.
With local Swan Hill stores relying on the duck season for profit, the slow season and lack of numbers meant the industry suffered in the region.
Hunter Marine owner Andrew Ash said the outlook had been bleak before the season even began, with key issues then plaguing the 2016 event.
