A WEEK ago Member for Mallee Andrew Broad tipped the Coalition would limp over the line in the federal election, and that prediction appeared correct after Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull yesterday claimed victory for the Coalition.
The Turnbull-led Liberal-National Coalition was poised to secure the magic number of 76 seats and win majority government over Bill Shorten and the Australian Labor Party, with just five seats remaining in doubt at the weekend.
“A win is a win,” Mr Broad said yesterday.
“I’ve never seen a football team lose by a point or two points and celebrate with the cup.
“Bill Shorten is doing a victory lap — for what?”
