AFTER demolishing Golden Square 135-0 last week, the Woorinen Tigers Youth Girls Football side are on the hunt for the Hawks this weekend.
Taking on Huntly away from home, the second-placed Tigers will be looking for another complete performance to boost their percentage and win column.
Huntly are languishing in eighth spot at the moment with just one win from seven attempts and, when compared with the Tigers’ record of eight wins and two losses, are facing a tough ask when the visitors roar into town.
After last week’s performance, football director Brenten Hogan said he was happy to see the Tigers playing so well.
“We were very good in the centre and then Jordyn Jollife up forward was a great target, she kicked a bag of nine,” he said.
“We are going down to Huntly to get a win and to get a good win, it would be fantastic to keep boosting percentage. I think every game is vitally important and we are still fighting for second spot.
“We have been keeping their training up and they know how important a win will be, the next few weeks will be huge for us.”
The next few weeks will be interesting for Woorinen, as they do battle with third placed Kangaroo Flat for second.
Despite having a match with another inexperienced side this weekend, their final round match will be against Flat, a game which could decide who finishes where.
When asked about the last rounds in the season, Hogan said a big challenge was still ahead.
“Our best football is good enough, and we just need to continue to play with consistency, that is the biggest hurdle…for us to maintain the high standard.”
