EX-SWAN Hill local Josh Jenkins has opened up about life outside of football in Adelaide after signing a long-term contract extension with the Adelaide Football Club.
Last week the club announced Jenkins, 27, re-signed with the club on a five-year deal, keeping him in Crows colours until the end of 2021.
The former Swan Hill resident was stoked to be able to stay with the Crows — for whom he has played all his Australian Football League (AFL) career — for what is likely to be the rest of his footballing days.
However, Jenkins told The Guardian he also felt embraced by the city of Adelaide and was well-entrenched there.
His decision to stay in the “City of Churches” was made with long-term partner Hannah Delmenico, who moved over to Adelaide from Swan Hill along with Jenkins.
“It’s probably the comfortable, laid-back living,” Jenkins said.
