A NOTORIOUS intersection in Swan Hill again caused an issue when two vehicles collided on the corner of McCallum and High streets yesterday.
Police believe a Holden Commodore was travelling east toward the Murray River on McCallum Street about 1pm and a Mazda sedan was travelling north on High Street when the accident happened.
Give Way signs face motorists travelling in High Street.
The female driver of the sedan, aged in her 70s, was treated by paramedics for shock before being taken to Swan Hill District Health for observation.
The driver of the other vehicle, a woman aged in her early 20s, and a young baby in the rear passenger seat were left shaken but uninjured.
It is the second crash at the busy intersection within two weeks and the fourth to occur at the intersection this year.
Police said the driver of the Mazda would be issued with a penalty notice.
Swan Hill Highway Patrol Senior Constable Neal Leach said police would continue to patrol the intersection, declining to comment on whether safety measures such as lights should be installed.
“We urge drivers to look before they take off and be aware of their immediate surroundings,” Sen-Constable Leach said.
